Before we begin shooting, we spend hours planning, storyboarding, scripting, site scouting, talent coordination, preparing our equipment, and much more.

On an average day of filming, we can record up to 300GB of footage, which takes a long time to transfer to hard drives and upload online.

The majority of the time is spent in the post-production phase of the process. We need to go over all of the day's material, prepare it for editing, and then start editing.

We must select the best track for your video, arrange it in the best order, correct any audio that may have been captured, colour correct the footage, add any graphics on screen, and, if necessary, add some SFX before exporting, uploading, and sending it to you for approval.

We are not content unless you are, therefore we will gladly go back and forth until you are satisfied that you have the best-looking movie possible (we are confident this will not take long).

Since the invention of the first camera, there has been a fight over RAW files. RAW files are high-quality, unprocessed videos that professional videographers commonly employ. Many videographers prefer to utilise them because they provide greater flexibility than regular video files. They take up a lot of space and are usually shot in codecs like SLOG, VLOG, or ProRes, which are flat and dreary out of the camera and need a few extra steps in the editing process to look presentable.

So, who actually owns the RAW files? This is when things become tough.

On the one hand, the videographer should have complete ownership over the footage they shot because they own the camera and shot the video. The client, on the other hand, has paid for the video and may want to use specific clips for their own purposes. It is common practice for videographers to maintain ownership of all videos shot. That is not to mean that we will not provide them if you request them; it simply depends on the circumstances and what was agreed upon in the initial brief.

You pay Tech9Design for the photographs and movies we produce when you hire us for photography or videography. For example, if you want us to come out and deliver one professionally edited promo film, we may shoot 100 or more clips on the day of the shoot. After we edit the footage that correlate to the brief, you can utilise the finished commercial movie as you see fit. However, RAW clips remain Tech9Design property.

When you employ Tech9Design for photography or videography, you pay for the photographs and movies that we create. For example, if you want us to come out and deliver one professionally edited promo video, we may film 100 or so segments on the day of the shoot. After we edit the clips that conform to the brief, the finished promo video is yours to use however you see fit. RAW clips are still considered Tech9Design property.
